Let's talk about mushrooms. They grow in all 50 states, are high in nutrients, easy to pick and delicious. That's why mushrooms are the most popular food to forage in the US. Spring is the perfect time for some of my favorites, morels and porcinis.  

So, to get ready for some spring picking, we dug this mushroom handbook out of the ACME Archives. 

The Student's hand-book of mushrooms of America, edible and poisonous was written by A. R. Taylor and published in a series by the University of Michigan in 1897. You can find the full text HERE.
